Our beet pulp has no sugar. We use only the fiber left after all the sugar has been extracted. Beet pulp is by far the best source of fiber. It does a better job of moving the nutrients through the digestive system and acts as a calming base for forming the stool in the colon and it develops good fecal consistency. Vitamins, minerals and nutrients are first digested in the stomach - then absorbed into the blood through the walls of the intestinal walls. If those walls are covered with slime/mucus - absorbtion of these life-sustaining nutrients is reduced. Beet pulp gentle massages intestinal walls, removing the mucus and aiding the bowel movement.
We feel it is better than breakfast food by-products, corn, cottonseed, corn cobs, citrus pulp, soy beans, screening or other foreign materials such as noxious weeds, straw, hulls or chaff and other fillers most often used in pet foods.
