We are currently seeking a Digital/Social Media Specialist to join our Marketing team. Our Digital/Social Media Specialist will manage digital marketing campaigns to ensure they are delivered in an effective, efficient manner that achieves brand strategy. This team member will manage a best in class consumer experience on brand properties by ensuring relevant and meaningful content, and will also be responsible for maintaining our social media presence across all digital channels. This position will translate the marketing and business goals into effective digital programs that achieve set KPIs.



Position Description (Responsibilities):

  • Develops strategic digital marketing plans that deliver on the determined business/marketing objectives
  • Develops, executes and owns our social media strategy for assigned brands
  • Manages brand websites, blogs and digital properties, including social media communities
  • Creates and maintains content calendars
  • Measures and reports on the performance of all digital marketing campaigns, including key KPIs
  • Lives the WellPet values and culture and doing whatever it takes for the pets who depend on us
  • Creates, curates and schedules all social posts (video, photo, copy)
  • Supports all relevant marketing initiatives with effective social integration
  • Works with team members in the development of full digital marketing programs for all special projects
  • Develops strong accountable working relationships with internal teams, particularly Brand and Consumer Affairs teams, as well as outside vendors, e.g. Public Relations, Coupon provider, creative agencies, etc.
  • Manages paid media and paid social campaigns
  • Identifies and works with influencers (individuals, brands, etc.) to help build brand awareness and affinity
  • Manages web design and development to ensure that consistent, up-to-date content is available on public-facing websites
  • Manages CRM including monthly email newsletters
  • Manages and approves creative assets for digital campaigns and provides to appropriate cross functional partners and customers
  • Shares recommended strategy and tactics with International teams as well as content calendars, best practices, KPIs and benchmarks
  • Continuously positions WellPet brands as thought leaders in the premium pet food industry
  • Ensures programs come in on budget and within the approved brand and content strategy guidelines
  • Utilizes all information available to determine what’s working and not working using a data-based approach




This position is ideally suited for an individual who has a strong digital affinity, loves social media and is detail oriented, well organized & acts with a sense of urgency. The candidate must have excellent verbal & written communication skills, a strong consumer focus and be results-oriented. Other requirements include:

  • Minimum four-year degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Digital Media, Business, Communications or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of experience in digital marketing
  • Passionate and creative with knack for bringing ideas to life
  • Passion for creating a story through media
  • Love of pets and their pet parents
  • Multi-media (video, photo, copy) management skills
  • Experience managing multiple social media channels
  • Experience managing a portfolio of content producers (photographers, copywriters, agencies, etc.), as well as the appetite to sometimes be on camera
  • Understanding of Content Management Systems
  • Email marketing platform knowledge (e.g. Bronto) and a basic understanding of HTML preferred
  • Experience managing secure coupon promotions
  • Experience with managing budgets for digital and social media
  • Strong working knowledge of digital media tools including Facebook Ads Manager, Instagram, Twitter, Google AdWords, YouTube
  • Background in web analytics (using Google Analytics) and social management and monitoring platforms (e.g. Sprinklr)
  • Self-directed, flexible and able to work independently
  • The ability to multi-task and handle several components of a project in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a positive/proactive approach to work, duties and tasks
  • Candidate should be a true collaborator who works well with team members, staff, other departments, senior leadership and vendors
