Accounts Payable Clerk - Tewksbury, MA << Back to Careers

Position Summary:

Our Accounting team at WellPet is made up of professionals who understand the difference our products make in the lives of pets. We are currently seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team of pet-passionate professionals. This position is based in our Tewksbury office and reports to the Accounts Payable Manager. Our Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.


Position Description (Responsibilities):

  • Review and audit invoices for proper approval prior to entry to our ERP system
  • Match invoices to packing lists; processing invoices against purchase orders
  • Identify and research overdue invoices; expedite payment as appropriate
  • Answer telephone and email inquiries from both internal and external parties; follow up in a timely manner
  • Process receipt of items in our ERP system
  • Match invoices to payment
  • Prepare back up to send to our 3rd party vendor for storage
  • Assist printing supplier invoices from the Accounts Payable email account
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Live the WellPet values and culture and doing whatever it takes for the pets who depend on us



Position Requirements:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed professional to join our team. This position requires good time management, attention to detail and follow through. In addition, you will need:

  • A high school degree or equivalent
  • A minimum of two years of experience working in an Accounts Payable role
  • An understanding of 3 way matching within the accounts payable function
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel)
  • Good customer service skills, including written and verbal communication and a customer first mentality
  • Able to organize and prioritize basic information and tasks
  • Demonstrates positive attitude and takes a proactive approach




  • An Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance
