Position Summary: Our Brand Team at WellPet is seeking an experienced Brand Manager to join our team in our Tewksbury corporate headquarters. Reporting to our Global Brand Director for Treats, this Brand Manager will focus on our Old Mother Hubbard® product lines to support continued growth in pet specialty & e-com while driving success of our highly strategic brand launch into the FDM channel. This individual will leverage consumer and trade insights to help develop effective new products and marketing programs and drive business results.

 

Position Description (Responsibilities):

  • Develop and maintain a working level knowledge of our products, the pet food industry and the natural pet food market dynamics, including the ability to conduct competitive SWOT, brand performance and pricing analyses.
  • Participate in the development of annual brand plans including marketing campaigns, new product launches, consumer & trade promotions, merchandising and distribution opportunities. 
  • Participate in Sales & Operations Planning – ensuring accurate forecasting of new and existing products.
  • Conduct post-launch reviews and analysis to measure effectiveness of planned promotions.
  • Partner with sales management to gain their input and field experience to identify the best programs and practices for successful sell-in & sell-through of your brands.
  • Lead the creation of marketing materials such as price sheets, brand style guides & brand toolkits, social & digital media assets, in-store POP/merchandising materials and sales tools.
  • Collaborate cross functionally to drive effective brand activation and execution of brand promotional activities
  • Maintain a close working relationship with outside agencies such as:  printers, public relations agency, promotion & design firms.
  • Help manage Marketing budgets
  • Manage coupon budget, creation, and analysis in cooperation with internal and external partners
  • With our Global Brand Director,  coach and develop our Associate Brand Managers
  • Live the WellPet values and culture and doing whatever it takes for the pets who depend on us

 

Position Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience in Brand Management in a Consumer Packaged Goods environment – Food, Drug & Mass brand marketing experience is a must!
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business Management, MBA preferred
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent project management abilities, capable of prioritizing and handling multiple projects simultaneously, under tight time constraints and within budget parameters
  • Self-motivating & comfortable working with offsite line manager
  • Well-developed written and oral presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate and influence cross-functionally
  • Demonstrates positive attitude and takes a proactive approach; sees challenges as opportunities and translates them into actionable tasks; brings solutions not problems, action oriented with sense of urgency
  • Displays grace and presence at all times
  • Energized by fast-paced environment
  • Computer proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to travel 20% (trade shows & assist in key customer meetings)
  • Collaborative, team player with a “can do” attitude.
