Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a National Account Manager to join our Sales team. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales for our eCommerce, channel team, our National Account Manager will serve as the primary business owner for our Chewy.com business.

 

Position Description (Responsibilities):

  • Owns revenue, forecasting, profitable spend, and ROI for the assigned accounts
  • Ensures the achievement of both short- and long-term financial goals for assigned account
  • Owns day to day relationship with assigned account with the primary goal of delivering short- and long-term financial results
  • Fosters partnership with assigned account to allow for account penetration up – down – across the entire account
  • Builds sustainable business processes between WellPet and assigned accounts to efficiently deliver joint value and meet commitments
  • Serves as account champion internally to make sure accounts receive the support necessary to be successful
  • Serves as the chief author of business performance for assigned accounts both internally and externally
  • Provides leadership to ensure WellPet brand strategies, policies, and sales tactics are understood and implemented within their account or
  • Develops and maintains high visibility with account key decision-makers and decision-influencers to advance business opportunities
  • Utilizes all information available to determine what’s working and not working using a data-based approach
  • Communicates crucial market, trade and competitive information on a timely basis
  • Developing promotional plans that complement the sponsored ad & display spends and ensure delivery of POS growth as well as they key strategies and tactics built within the annual joint business plan.
  • Build sustainable and efficient business processes between WellPet, Chewy, and third-party agencies supporting the business such that above goals and business plans are achieved.
  • Enroll and collaborate with key internal resources and stakeholders to understand, support, and deliver the Chewy plan. Including but not limited to; Sales Operations, Customer Service, Brand, Customer Marketing, Demand Planning, Finance, and IT.
  • Leverage, and/or establish the use of, business tools to drive efficiency and effectiveness internally and with the customer
  • Provide leadership externally with Chewy SAS resource, Vendor Management team, and agency to set strategies that deliver sustainable POS and revenue growth and optimal ROI on spend.
  • Develop account penetration with Chewy key decision-makers and decision-influencers to advance business opportunities.
  • Leverage and/or improve data reporting to enable data- based selling across all key Chewy metrics.
  • Translate Chewy key metrics to key WellPet metrics to ensure understanding and alignment across internal and external stakeholders.
  •  Lives the WellPet values and culture, doing whatever it takes for the pets who depend on us

 

Requirements:

This position is ideally suited for an individual who is analytical, detail-oriented, well-organized & acts with a sense of urgency. Our National Account Managers have excellent verbal and written communication skills, a strong customer focus and are results-oriented. This person will be able to balance being entrepreneurial with solid account management skills. Other requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relatable field, MBA preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in sales management in the consumer products industry, specifically with fast-moving products or consumables
  • Experience leading and owning eCommerce  accounts, specifically Chewy.com
  • A proven track record for managing large, strategic and complex customers
  • Self-directed, flexible, and able to work independently
  • Experience to include collaboration with both internal and external business partners
  • Computer proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel between 20% of the time
  • Collaborative, team player with a “can-do” attitude.
