The Dura-Whelp Weaning Pen is made of the same durable plastic as the Dura-Whelp Whelping Box. The Pen consists of 4 walls and a floor, no rails, no door. The pen is easy to use, easy to clean and easy to store. Light weight and strong, the pen sets up in seconds and attaches to the door area of the Dura-Whelp Whelping Box. Puppies are able to exit the whelping box and enter the weaning pen area to play, eat and poop.
This arrangement more closely approximates the natural puppy den. The weaning pen offers the puppies their birthing area to sleep in, a porthole area, and a new safe area to explore. Your puppies will naturally develop better strength, health and potty skills.

Therma-Whelp Warming System
Includes a head and heat element. Not a heat light but a ceramic heat emitter that sends out longwave length infrared emissions to provide maximum heat penetration. An adjustable stand to raise and lower the head to control the temperature. The stand is set up outside the box so there are no cords in the box. Also, a teflon coated cradle (large=27"x15" or small=17"x11") in the box that collects and holds the heat so when the puppies are on it they get the warmth from the top, the bottom and the warm air around them. The on-cradle thermometer makes it easy to check the temperature.
