Electro Mechanic Technician - Mishawaka, IN << Back to Careers

Position Summary: Provide plant wide support for manufacturing control systems and production. Position will include providing maintenance, mechanical support, electrical support, programming, documentation, training, instrumentation, controls and possible computer integration for manufacturing process equipment. Position could have opportunities to be responsible for small projects as assigned.


Position Description (Responsibilities):

  • Respond to maintenance work orders.
  • Perform maintenance PM’s including mechanical, electrical, controls and instruments.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and wiring for 480V, 120V and 24V systems.
  • Troubleshoot and be able to calibrate instrumentation.
  • Provide PLC & VFD troubleshooting.
  • Document work performed via a Computerize Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Assist plant for technical services personnel in troubleshooting operational problems.
  • Assist in training of plant personnel on new and upgraded systems.
  • Perform programming of the control system as required.
  • Clearly and properly document any program or equipment modifications made.
  • Willingness to learn plant SCADA system.
  • Manage time and prioritize tasks.
  • Provide mechanical technical support.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Position Requirements:

  • Ability to troubleshoot operation problems.
  • Electrical power distribution knowledge (3 phase 480V or below).
  • Allen Bradley PLC, HMI & VFD configuration and programming knowledge.
  • Instrumentation knowledge (various types of level, temperature, weight proximity, etc.).
  • Effective interaction with production staff.
  • Strong attention to details and follow through of tasks and assignments.
  • Wonderware Archestra experience helpful.
  • Allex Bradley FactoryTalk SE or Studio experience helpful.
  • Ethernet/IP networks for control equipment.
  • Technical/Trade school required.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Ability to understand PC based control systems.
  • Ability to read mechanical, electrical and control schematics.
  • Ability to read and modify PLCs.
  • Good PC skills in Word, Excel, electronic mail and windows based programs.
  • Knowledge of process control systems.
  • Ability to configure industrial machine controls, including AC/DC drives.
  • Work in an industrial plant environment.
  • Ability to walk up numerous flights of stairs, ladders and/or work in confined spaces in extreme conditions.
  • Ability to life and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • 3rd shift work required with potential overtime.
