Position Summary: Our R+D team at WellPet is made up of professionals who understand the difference our products make in the lives of pets. This role is ideal for someone with a natural drive to improve existing processes and has an innate interest in the product development process. This person would be seeking to be mentored to grow into a leadership role where you will need to hold diverse cross functional groups accountable and keep projects on track. This individual should show initiative and set good accountability examples to team members by being on time when facilitating meetings, arriving 5 minutes beforehand with a prepared meeting agenda and defined goals. Individual should have confidence and facilitate/gain an understanding of technical information while ensuring progression of projects.  Must be able to multi-task across multiple projects.  Will own smaller projects to start and grow to own more diverse projects as time goes on. 

 

Position Description (Responsibilities):

  • Provide leadership to project teams on the stage gate process and its alignment with product development and product delivery
  • Create and maintain the project schedule, through definition and tracking of key project milestones owned by the team
  • Manage communications across the cross-functional project team
  • Assist in providing regular updates to key management stakeholders
  • Participate in product change process and New Product Development (NPD) meetings
  • Manage project risk with the team
  • Track and facilitate the resolution of cross-functional team issues
  • Manage project scope with the internal customer
  • Define and track project deliverables through review while driving accountability
  • Participate in program management discussions to share data/key learnings with peers and provide feedback into the Product Delivery process for continuous improvement

 

Position Requirements:

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in managing cross-functional projects in a product delivery environment
  • Knowledge of and experience leading others in standard stage gate processes and product lifecycle activities
  • Proven success keeping diverse stakeholders focused on common goals; able to hold senior staff accountable with grace
  • CPG product development experience preferred
  • Developing leadership presence
  • Great relationship management and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and work through others
  • Top-notch verbal and written communication skills; direct communication style
  • Natural facilitator, problem solver
  • Proficiency with project management tools and practices
  • Flexible, Collaborative, team player with a “can do” attitude
