Leader in Natural Pet Food Nutrition Welcomes Michael Cato to New Position


Tewksbury, Mass. (August 14, 2013) – WellPet, the family of natural food for pets including Wellness®, Holistic Select®, Old Mother Hubbard® and Eagle Pack®, announces today a new Vice President of Sales, Michael Cato.


“We are excited to have Michael assume his new role here at WellPet,” said Tim Callahan, Chief Executive Officer. “Since joining WellPet in 2010, he has had a significant impact on our business. We are fortunate to have someone with Michael’s experience, track record of success and leadership head our sales team.”


Cato has more than 25 years of diversified sales experience in the consumer packaged goods, consumer healthcare and the pharmaceutical industries. Before joining WellPet, he held a variety of sales and sales leadership positions with increasing levels of responsibility working with companies such as Johnson and Johnson, Schering-Plough and Glaxo-Wellcome. In his three years at WellPet, Cato’s responsibilities have included leading the Canadian business, expanding national accounts and most recently running WellPet’s largest business segment, eastern sales.


As the new Vice President of Sales, Cato will serve an operational and strategic role, maintaining existing business and developing new business, providing strong leadership and guidance to the sales team as well as identifying strategic opportunities for the WellPet brands.


Cato attended State University of New York College at Oneonta and will be based in Massachusetts with his family and two Toy Poodles.
